About Al-Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk Book 2

Al-Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk (العربية بين يديك, “Arabic Between Your Hands”) is a communicative course for non-native speakers. Each unit is built around an everyday topic and trains listening, speaking, reading and writing, with dialogues rather than grammar tables.

Book 2 continues with new everyday topics and grows the vocabulary considerably: 1,867 words across 16 units.

How to learn these words

Learn one unit at a time, ideally right after working through its text in the book — the words then come with context.
Learn every noun together with its plural. Broken plurals cannot be derived from the singular, so they have to be memorised as a pair.
Learn verbs with past tense, present tense and masdar. The vowel of the present tense is not predictable from the past.
Test yourself instead of re-reading the list, and review on a schedule: the next day, after a few days, then after weeks.
