The Madinah books (Durus al-Lughah al-Arabiyyah li-Ghayr an-Natiqin biha) were written by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim for the Islamic University of Madinah. They build Arabic up step by step through grammar, entirely in Arabic, and are used worldwide in Islamic schools and for self-study.
Book 2 builds directly on Book 1 and moves from simple sentences to verbs and longer texts — the step from beginner to lower intermediate. It adds 464 words.
Madinah Arabic Book 2 has 464 vocabulary words across 28 lessons. 208 of them come with a plural form, and 146 are verbs, listed with their past and present tense.

Lessons 8, 22 and 24 are review lessons in the book and introduce no new vocabulary, so there is no separate word list for them.

Bayna Yadayk also teaches more vocabulary — 4,519 words in three books, compared with 2,767 in the three Madinah books.
